We are Annette Matthews and
David Best, our interest in Maine Coon's started
in 1996,our first kittens were born in 97, since
then we have slowly built up to
about 4 to 5 litters per year
.
Of course we all want
large, healthy, show standard kittens, but we
would always put temperament and very friendly
at the top our list, as we believe that a Maine
Coon that has a lack of confidence and is
unfriendly makes a very poor pet, an
unshowable show cat, and possibly a quite
unhappy cat.
That's not
fair

The lodge pictured above is
home to us both
and all of the cats, the
lodge was built
in around 1830 by Lady
Anne Gore-Langton,
daughter of the
second Duke of Buckingham
and
Chandos.
It is set in just
under 6 acres of parkland which was designed and
planted in 1874 by someone
named
Buttles,
it was therefore named
Buttles Plantation.
The trees are
mostly
hardwood, but perhaps the
most impressive are
3 Giant Sequoia's which are
individually over
100 feet
high.
Both Annette and myself
feel very privileged
to live
here,
but rather
humble.
